Spend a day with an expert puma tracker on a wildlife safari where you’ll immerse yourself in an important conservation project that aims to reduce human-wildlife conflict and preserve the cultural traditions of Patagonia. Backdropped by magical views of the famous Torres Del Paine, you’ll traverse the private land of a working estancia (sheep ranch), visiting camera traps and using binoculars to scan the mountain ridges for these elusive big cats. The project to collar and monitor the pumas is part of a partnership with Panthera after decades of species decline, and aims to be sustained through tourism. Multi-day stays at the estancia may also include horseback riding with gauchos and other ranch activities as well as full-day hiking trips in the national park.
