THE AlUla PROJECT
Measuring at 8,710 square miles (compared to Manhattan’s 22.82 square miles), the @experiencealula project aims to diversify the Saudi economy and raise the country’s profile from an international perspective. With the goal of highlighting the region’s cultural heritage, this project also aims to make the AlUla region the cultural capital of Saudi Arabia. The open-air living museum will offer up a unique touristic experience (through culture and nature) dedicated to traditions of hospitality throughout the Arab World. The project will also ensure the sustainable development of the region remains true to the environment, history and culture of local communities through conservation efforts, such as historical restorations of existing structures and wildlife preservation.
