Seeing polar bears in the wilds of the Canadian Arctic is a life-changing experience whether you visit in the springtime, when mothers emerge from their dens with their newborn cubs, or later in the season when they descend from the mountains to head toward the sea ice. A polar bear’s habitat is a fragile, ever-changing environment that you will never appreciate more than when you see it for yourself. Depending on the time of year you may also be able to experience the spectacular northern lights, witness a pod of narwhal (we love the nickname “unicorns of the sea”) near the floe edge, or see any number of other endemic species like elk, walrus, beluga whales, bowhead whales, and seals.
Also consider taking a polar plunge!
